I've done my first dvdrip using sefy guide. I've ripped the files and made a d2v file with DVD2AVI. Now, when i try to load it into TMPGenc it just say's
    "Can not open, or unsupported".
    What shall I do?
I searched the forums and I didn't find anything, but if i missed something I'm sorry.

  4. I'm guessing it was the DVD2AVI.VFP which was not located where it should be, and that would be in the TMPGEnc folder location 8)

  5. umm, i dont think so. i have tmpgenc and it reads d2v files just fine, but i do not have any file called dvd2avi.vfp. my friend was trying to get his to work with d2v files but couldnt, and i just assumed that the program came with d2v cababilities because i never had to do anything to make it read them. where can i find the file he needs?

  6. I Don't just think so, I know so, older TMPGEnc for example didn't even come with the TMPGEnc.VFP you had to download it as a seperate package, today, it comes in the same ZIP file so it makes life easier.

However, in order for TMPGEnc to read D2V files, the DVD2AVI.VFP must exist in a way that TMPGEnc can find it, usually the best way is to have it in the same folder, saves alot of trouble.

Here is a download link for DVD2AVI

  7. well is it possible that i have that file, just not inthe folder with my tmpgenc? because it is definatley not in that folder. i have that file in another folder that has a different version of tmpgenc, is it possible that the newer version can read it from that version or something?

  8. i also was wondering, does the fact that i have dvd2avi.exe on my computer have anything to do with it being able to use d2v files?

  9. That is most defenetly a possibility, the way I see it, your older TMPGEnc has registered the D2V class, and because of that, the newer TMPGEnc knows how to access the files.

This might however cause problems with some D2V files, so I suggest you use the Batch file for installing VFP in TMPGEnc correctly, so it will point to the new .VFP files and not those in the old TMPGEnc.

  10. what batch file for installing? dont u just copy the file into the folder?

  11. With TMPGEnc there is a file called: TMPGEncVFP_Install.BAT
This registers the VFP plugin so it will properly identify VFP files.

  12. hmmm, ok thanx. that file is not in my tmpgenc folder but i am doing a search for it on my hardrive. is it bad if i dont use that bat file to register? the d2v extention shows up in the File Type box when i go to Video Source and so far the d2v files that i have used have worked....
