Can I just aska Q aboutb the header trick ( my friends puter won't play SVCD).
Do I import the Mpeg2 into TMPG (Mpeg tools) and select Mpeg 1, then run it to the output file?

doing the header trick won't magically make the file play on a computer. it is meant to be used for dvd players. it sounds like you friend doesn't have an mpeg2 codec installed. you don't need one for mpeg1 but you do for mpeg2.

While I used the "head trick" to play SVCD's on my Sony Changer and they did play on the Sony, noticed that the same "Tricked" SVCDs would not play on my Panasonic Portable, Apex and Raite DVD players. When doing the standard SVCD they played correctly on my Panasonic, Apex and Raite but not on my Sony changer. Lately though have switched over to making DVD's and they play fine on my Pioneer (LD/DVD combo), Panasonic, Apex Changer, Sony Changer and Raite. Prices have come down tremendiously on the Pioneer Burners (saw it for $166 today) and it worthwhile investiment as the firmware has now been upgrade for very fast DVD reads, any brand DVD burning and RPC1. What more can you ask for. Best to use with a P4 though.
