  2. If you have RecordNow, (1) select the drive where your disc is; (2) select Build Global-Image from menu "Drive"; The software will tell you if the disc is finalized or not.

    James,
If you have Nero, and you chose Multisession, or continue multisession, or somesuch, they won't be finalized. If you choose"No multisession", then they are finalized, no further burning possible.
10 meg or 700 meg, but CDs are cheaper than floppies, so no big deal.
Or, use a CD-RW, and erase.

  5. In Nero menu go to Recorder, then Medium Info. If it say "CD-Recordable" or CD-ReWritable", then it is not closed. If it says "Read-Only CD", then it is closed.

  7. Well, to be honest, I don't think Nero has made it very easy to close disks, or fixing a disk as they call it. I tried to do some experimenting, using a ReWritable disk. I started a multisession disk, and after I wrote a couple of sessions on it, I could not close it. It seems like the only time you can close a disk is when you start a disk for the first time and specify to close it right from the get go. Otherwise, if you don't close it the first time, then it becomes a multisession disk and, you won't be able to close it any more. I could be totally wrong but this is my conclusion so far.

    James,
A friend gave me a multisession disk that was not closed, and I couldn't read it. I gave it back and he closed it. Now, he uses EZCD, but I would assume you could go into Nero and uncheck "Multisession" or "Continue Multisession", and it woul close. Haven't tried that, but you might.

  9. i think there is a glitch in the software where it actually doesnt close some discs that you tell it to, and i have sucessfully closed some of them but only after making a new session (the new session was blank all i did was close it).

More info on this in the thread i started:
