  1. Well I've created several xsvcd and vcd using this methode but eventoght the quality in my pc is great no garbadge in the dvd player ( denver 311 ) I see a lot of garbadge even at low bitrates 823kbps. I've tested the samples that are here in the XSVCD section and they worked great no garbadge so I must have made something rong. The same happens witn XVCD's. Please any help By the way I'm using divx 1.5 and tmpgenc 2 any problem there?

    Thanks in Advance.
The methode guide I used is here http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdbackup.htm

  2. "even at low bitrates" ????

Just to double check, you do know that you want a high bitrate. The higher the better. 823kbit/s will/should look like crap. The VCD standard is 1150, the SVCD standard is 2520. I normally use 1400~2200 for my DVD rips.

Try Sefy's Guide to ripping instead:

Also there are good guides at:

    http://www.flexion.org/vcd (look under DVD Converison
    http://www.doom9.org

There are also 'one step' programs like DVDx and DVD2SVCD. I really like DVD2SVCD (http://dvd2svcd.doom9.net, d/load the newest software bundle). However, the user guide and faqs are at:

(you can also d/load the CCE 2.5 SP Demo here)

  3. First of all really thanks for replying.
I think I've the same problem with high bitrates I'm gonna try at 2200 but I think I will have the same.
The problem with sefy's guide is that it doesn't allow subtitiles wich is extremely important to me, and think it's not all in one, with the methode I refered I can just leave it all night working. Besides I think that the problem must be in the TMPG enc settings since its the last to encode but the strange thing is that in my PC the quality is great.
Hey ! Let's be carefull out there :)

  5. CrazyMike, have you checked the updated guide ? it also shows (basicly) the Subtitles, like in DVDx and FlaskMPG, i've tried to cover as much as I could and still make it easy to use, i'd do changes if I get comments, so let me know.

First off all, thanks for reading my guide! Does this problem only happen since you got TMPGEnc 2, or has it always been there? Just load the standard (s)vcd templates in TMPGEnc and try to encode using that...
Get back to me if this doesn't resolve the problem. You can contact me at bhatiadhruv@hotmail.com
