  1. ive enjoyed backing up my dvds to vcd, svcd, divx, xvid, etc.

now is my chance to get a dvd burner drive cuz of my birthday soon.

what do u recommend for backing up dvd9 to one disc dvd-5 (with extras and etc)?

    drive:
    - what brand
    - either -rw or +rw

    programs:
    -dvdshrink
    -dvd2one
    -etc

    media:
    -dvd-r/dvd-rw
    -dvd+r/dvd+rw

i can go with reducing quality and/or removing audio tracks and subtitles in order to fit on one dvd-5 discs.

    thanks

I have to agree with the first poster. With a Pioneer 105/a05 some Ritek media, and good software you can't go wrong. I however don't use any of the quick DVD methods, and the slow ones seem to be "out of style" so I'll leave the software suggestions to others.

But if you do hack the burner to burn 2x on the Ritek disk remember you do so at your own risk.

Out of hundreds of Ritek G03s I've had only one coaster that wasn't either a mistake by me, or during the time when my first burner died. Just remember to take good care of your disk.
