  1. I recently spent hours trying to put an SVCD version of LOTR
: The Two Towers onto a DVD. I tried re-encoding a number of times, but the quality was atrocious, so I looked for a guide to help just put the SVCD files onto the DVD disc. Found one that worked just fine...on my Sony player. However, I gave the disc to my brother to use on his Toshiba sd-1800(?) and that's when the wierdness began. The disc spins up and plays right away, so I know that it reads DVD-Rs just fine. The problem is that the picture seems to be squished to the left 2/3s of the TV, and the remaining third on the right is showing the left 1/3 of the movie (not squished). Any thoughts? Almost forgot, his player doesn't read SVCDs, so I can't just give him the SVCD version. Really had no idea where to put this, so it's here in the genreal forum.

Oh, and please don't think poorly of me for having a unreleased movie on SVCD. I am going to buy this the day the Extended version comes out...only that's in November and I can't wait.
