    I just made a backup of my dvd and played it on my stand-alone player. The first half of the movie plays perfectly fine and then the second half, it pauses and you came see all the pixels. Is this a media problem or could this be a software problem?

    Both dirt on dvd and cheap media sucks you get what you pay for use tdk or verbatim or memorex ....
