Hi all!
I got the following problem,
I have the Apex 1100 WB I use Nero to burn my VCD’s. I use TMPGEnc to convert my movies to MPEG. When I burn them as a standard CD-ROM (ISO) there are no problems playing the MPEG. But since I was fallen on my head when I was a kid… I want it to be perfect with a nice menu and maybe chapters ( In short a SVCD). But the problem is when I burn my MPEG as a Video-CD or Super Video-CD my player says “No valid disk”.
So my question is: can I somehow burn a CD-ROM with a menu and chapters… Or is there something I haven’t thought of… Maybe both are possible… Anyway I’m kind of new to this all.
So far,
PC out!

First be sure you encode the MPeG as a valid (Super-)VideoCD.
Nero is okay for creating VCD's, but I've heared they might not always be okay for creating SVCD's.
So find yourself another app to create SVCD's if you think Nero is crap for that (VCDwizard for instance).
You need to create the menu's yourself. You use STILL's for that.
Still's are images (704x576 for PAL/SECAM, 704x480 for NTSC) which are encoded to 1frame MPeG's using a special method (you can't use TMPGenc for that, unless you know which thricks to do). VCDwizard has a tool build in that can make Still's for you as well.
Don't expect the same kind of interactivity which one have with DVD.
(S)VCD's only have 'simple' menu's using the numeric keys at your remote for doing things like starting a movie, jumping to another menu or starting a chapter of the movie (you must draw you menu-image, so the watcher know which keys he must use).
For a VCD of about 800MB (aprox. 80minutes) you need a 700MB/80min. disk (and write them in DAO modus), for about 900MB (aprox. 90min.) you need a 800MB/90min. (your driver must support this kind of disks, because in most case it must do an overburn to burn these sizes), and so on.
Good Luck,
