So long story short. I love the 4x capabilities but the media is just too expensive for me right now. I have been away from this board for awhile because I was in the process of moving and doing other things so I am wondering if anyone can help me.
I have seen people mentioning hacked firmware making it possible to burn 1x media at 2x. Is this true? Can someone point me in the right direction? And can anyone tell me where to get riteks go3's at a good price?
Thanks in advance...

As for hacked firmware, be advised it will void your warantee. You can learn more about it here: http://forum.firmware-flash.com/portal.php
Keep in mind it's not for the faint of heart. (as you can render your drive inoperable if done incorrectly)
