Quick question guys - I've tried looking at some of the guides but I think I've missed something.
I've done a few backups of DVD-5 with DVD Decrypter - works fine.
Problem is with DVD-9 disks - have I got the following right?
1.) Rip main movie vobs to HDD with DVD Decrypter.
2.) Put all the files in a Video_ts folder.
3.) Burn video_ts folder using Recordnow Max.
Thanks in advance for any guidance.

A DVD-9 cannot fit on a blank DVD, you have the first part right. The second step is to send it through DVD Shrink or something like it to make the movie small enough to fit on a blank DVD. I use DVD2ONE. Then use Record Now to burn to DVD.
GOOD LUCK,

DVD2One
Instant Copy 7
DVDShrink
DVD95Copy
does the job (they are in order I use them) DVD2one make a good job for most movies, Instant COpy 7 made the job for longer movie.
Take a look at the store, I found Instant copy for 9.99$ on a sale day ! -
Sorry I didn't explain myself properly.
I have a DVD-9 dvd that is less than 4.38Gb when I have the vob files that I want (the main movie). What I need to check is what to do next.
I have ripped these files to my HDD. Do I need to put them in a video_ts folder and then burn that folder with recordnow max or do I need to do something else to the files first?
thanks. -
If you have a ripped the movie from a dvd-9 disk and it is 4.37 gigs or less, you will have to just run it through IFOEdit. This program will create new ifo files so it will play correctly on your dvd player. I beleive you will have to also rip the main ifo file on the original dvd. There are may ifo gudies on this site.
I don't use IFOEdit anymore. I just run it through dvd2one and let it create the ifo files (it doesn't reencode if it doesn't need too and it is faster that ifo edit). -
coot,
I have done this already on a DVD-9 where the main movie is under 4.37gig.
I use DVDToolBox to "extract" the main movie for a full DVD rip. I then use Nero to burn it. DVDToolBox creates your ifo files and such.
