Good day. And I beg your pardon for my bad English.
Here's my problem:
When I’ve splitted one of my DVD (with IfoEdit 0.95), I encountered one bug – scene access menu on second disc doesn’t work. All the buttons in this menu somehow are forcing the first chapter of second disc to be played.
Can someone answer me: where and how I must change button links and point them to the “right” chapters?
Thank You for your attention.

Hey Beat!
Not sure if I understand you correctly but I always use ifoedit 95 to split my dvd-9 discs into 2 dvd-rs. It works very well as long as you follow the guides - i.e there's a great one on doom9.
The chapter selection on the 2nd disc does work perfectly and correctly.
Bear this in mind. If an original disc has 4 chapters, when it gets split, chapters 1 - 2 will be correct on disc 1 but chapters 3 - 4 will always point to the last chapter i.e chapter 2. On disc 2, chapters 3-4 will point to the correct chapters but chapters 1 - 2 will always point to the first chapter i.e chapter 1.
Are you sure this is the case with every single chapter selection on disc 2?
Hope this helps. -
Hi and thanks for help.
First, imho guides works well only with discs used for writing those guides.
(for example there's no problem with the American Pie, from the other hand it appears that author of those guide doesn't care about menu on second disc).
Rough reality provides us with several kinds of DVD whith few "minor" modifications in their structure. So i don't think there is some universal guide.
(I believe there are exceptions, such as when disc's carry only main movie).
About case. Main movie in my case presented in one VTS (VTS_02_xx). It has 27 chapters.
On first disc goes chapters 1 trough 12 and the rest to the second disc.
About chapters it seems that you're right, but my question was exactly how to perform trick in exchanging links for buttons in menu.
(I thought it would be something like: "open the splitted VTS_xx_xx.ifo and highlight VTSM_PGCI_UT. then go to the menu # and do blah blah blah"). -
There's a program called "menuedit" that may help you. Do a search on this forum for it.
BTW, the doom9 guide logic does apply for all cases. The same chapter menu is on both discs but the different parts of the movie are on separate discs. The author makes no claims about re-pointing the menu on the second disc so that it only contains the chapter selection for the second disc only. This could be done by the software performing the split, but there's no guarantee it would work in all cases.
Good luck -
Thanks for tip about menuedit.
I tryed to use it, but ... unsuccesful. Can you tell my, what's wrong? First, for each button in menu there are three VOBID's (animated menu). All and same changes applied to all three VOBID's for one button. By default, all buttons in this menu (even working buttons on first disc) have command "link tail pgc (button 0)". I made direct links "jump vts_ptt" to title (where main movie) and chapter (for example, to #13 it is first chapter of movie on second (splitted) disc). Results are interesting: button just being ignored. Nothing happens. What's wrong with it?
