Can anybody help out with a working link to this DVD patch util, so that I can persude my author software to accept NTSC and PAL on the same DVD

Otherwise, I'll have to go through the added aggrevation of converting the NTSC movies to PAL, so that I can burn them onto a DVD, as I intend to put 2 movies per DVD

Yes, I know I could just put the NTSC and the PAL movies onto seperate DVD's, but I'm awkward that way, and want certain movies to be on the same DVD

I'm using TMPGenc DVD Author, which is perfectly acceptable for my needs, then using Nero or other burn util to burn the files onto DVD-R

I could use ULead DVD MovieFactory, which is better as far as menu creation goes, but I'm currently testing a few things, ready to build up a guide sometime in the future

    Thanks

You can mix ntsc and pal with tmpgenc dvd author. Under source setup, add first all pal videos and then click on add new track to the left and add all ntsc videos.

    Yep,

I though my luck was in, when I added NTSC and PAL using THPGenc DVD Author, then clicked to start the process, and got the nasty horrible can't mix formats error

Hence giving DVD Patcher a try, just to fool the author software into thinking its all PAL or NTSC

I have yet to play a true NTSC movie on my hoem DVD player, but the reason I bough it, was for the fact that is says it can auto-detect NTSC or PAL and also play DVD-R/DVD-RW/SVCD/VCD/MPŁ, etc, etc

Have you tried that link recently for DVD Patcher 1.06 ???

I've tried IE and Netscape, but I get the same German error message, which I assume is saying it can't find the file, dunno, my German is very basic, its been about 10 years since I needed to have more than a smattering of German, so I've forgotten virtually everything

    Thanks,

Any chance you can attach it to a private mail, and send it to me, otherwise I'm stuffed as for mixing NTSC and PAL on one CD

    Thanks

IIRC, it is against valid DVD specs to incorporate both NTSC and PAL within the same PGC, Title, or TitleSet. You might be able to get it onto the same disc if you can author it so there are 2 different titlesets, yet still be able to access/choose them both. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong here.
I think if H'wood titles do both systems on same DVD, they would usually be on opposite sides of the disc. Much easier to keep separate that way and much less confusing.

If you really want both systems, you could always try (X)SVCD or (X)VCD...These will allow that possibility.

    oh dear ........

Just tried that, with the firewall turned on and off totally, same reply

I get a denial from the link, same as before, won't let me link to that file from another location

If I go to that site directly, I just get redirected to the DVDPatcher web site

I've emailed the author, see if I get any luck from there ??

Can't get my email, as my email is messing about again.

Every now and then it refuses to let me sign in, and insists on asking for my log in details, even though it was working perfectly the night before, and I haven't been fiddling with the system

I just have to give it a day or so, I assume for the ISP to reset the mailbox set-ups

I really must get the ISP to admit its an arse, but can't be bothered with their so called tech support trying to tell me its my system, when I know its down to their mail system, yet again
