Does enabling the ASPI tools in VCDEasy cause anyone else to lock up? When I first started using VCDEasy I was able to use that feature with no problems but that was on a different computer. Now if I enable it, when VCDEasy restarts my whole system locks, the cursor won't move, even control alt delete doesn't do anything, I have to hit the reset button.

    The old computer was a modified Dell R400 with a 1000mhz P3, GeForce 2 MX400, 60GB Maxtor 5400rpm, Sony DVD-ROM and a Plextor 24X CDRW. Same OS, Win98 SE.

  2. I Never had a luck up, are you using ASPI v4.60 Build 1021 or something else ?

I've never had a lock up either, but I have had no success getting it to work with Adaptec or Microsofts's ASPI layer.

I downloaded the Ahead (Nero) ASPI layer and it works a dream

  4. I've tested Compel's WinASPI v4.60 Build 1021 on 98/SE/Me/2000 and XP and they work like a charm

I used force aspi to install verison 4.60, same as on the old system. Everything else in VCDEasy still works just fine but I haven't been able to use the ASPI tools since I replaced the old computer.
