  1. I'm converting a relatively small file; the program estimates it will take 10 hours. It is also running very jittery... I put it on high quality, but ten hours seems way too much for a music video.

    Any help?

  2. It depends on your CPU (and to some extent ram) the encoder you use and the settings within.

For ex, I had a K62-500, to convert a 90min DivX file to MPEG1 w/ TMPGenc took 18hrs. Now I have a Tbird 1.2Ghz, CCE will convert a file to MPEG2 at 1~1.35x the source run time!

So w/o knowing more about your system, and the settings you're using in TMPGenc it's hard to say.

  3. I was using the settings described by VCD helper.

I have a K63 400, 128 megs of RAM. It is about a 6 Meg file... I waited out the twelve hours, and the finished file didn't even have sound... could it be that the source movie is so compressed that it is just a bastard to convert?

    Thanks for any help...
