For days now I have been trying to decrypt the movie Signs using DVD decrypt. This was the first one I tried. With no success I thought to try another prgram so I tried DVD X copy that didnt work either. So this Am I used DVD X Copy on another DVD and it worked just fine.
Ok here is my queston. Is Signs a problem ? Has any one had that problem with that movie and if they did , have they found a solution? If so What?
Ok I know thats more then one queston.![]()

Signs rips fine. This is another question that is commonly asked. Clean the disk with a cleaning solution. You can also try a scratch doctor. If that doesn't work, then there is probably a scratch which can't be repaired. But those things USUALLY work.

if the scratch is deep enough that it goes into the data layer, there will not be an improvement, but most scratches are just on the surface and it might help.
another alternative - try SmartRipper. I've only encountered 2 or 3 discs that DVD Decrypter didn't like, and SmartRipper had no problem with them.
it's freeware, and it's in the Tools section at left.

I have one DVD drive (my burner hp 200i) that consistently chokes on certain movies at certain points. Has nothing to do with anything I'm afraid but the drive... Obviously dirt and scratches will do it too, but if the dvd is clean it's probably one of those things. If you have another DVD-Rom try ripping it with that one, it's the only workaround I've discovered.

Signs was my first rip ever and it worked no problem
you'r DVD is probably scratched -
It has to be your cd, like everyone else is saying. I been using smartripper for a few years. I ripped more than 40 dvds from anime to u.s. movies. It worked without a probelm.

put some toothpaste on your finger and rub it into the dvd or cd then rinse and dry takes care of most surface scratches. worked with a cd of mine that was allmost unplayable, had been out of its case in the car floor.

I've ran into several disk that do this on my liteon drive, and a few offline friends have also. Usually if I try them in a different drive (ie. my burner) they work fine. If you have another DVD drive try it.

I'm amazed at how often I need to clean disks before I can copy them.
