well, SVCDs only support 2-channel stereo sound.. so whatever your original source, it'll have to be downmixed to stereo.

obviously if you are backing up a dvd then they are normally in 384?? so if you keep it at this it will be the best quality.. you cannot achieve higher quality than the source.
