Ok, I am so new to this I don't know where to start.
My System:
Soyo KT400 Dragon Ultra MB with AMD XP 2500+ CPU
512 Meg Ram
nVidia gForce 4 mx440se
40 gig hd (upgrading soon)
32x CDRW
4x DVDRW (Pioneer a105)
I transferd my first movie (54 min) with Vegas Video 4.0, No problem
Used Vegas DVD Architech to create the dvd, It took 3 hours, 2.5 hours for the encoding and .5 hour to burn
Does that seem right???? the .5 hours to burn seems ok, but 2.5 hours to convert??? am I doing something wrong or is this what I sould expect.
Thanks in advance for any help
Gordon
PS Should I use a different encoder and if so, which one and how long should it take to encode a hour of video to dvd??
Thanks again.

Yes that sounds just about right! It has to convert the DV format to DVD quality then burn.
