    i'm wanna reauthor some of my non-anamorphic dvds with fixed subtitle placement so i can zoom in on my widescreen tv.

    how can i extract the videostream? i don't have to re-encode since the dvd is dvd-5.

    dvd decrypter or smartripper with stream processing turned on will give you an m2v file you seek. You might want to do a search in the forums about any of these programs and stream processing.
