I have some old Hi-8 tapes that I want to stream through my DV camcorder. I did this many times in Vista through Windows Movie Maker. Unfortunately, Win7's movie maker can't get past that the DV camcorder doesn't have a tape in it (using AV-DV pass-through requires that you remove the DV tape). I have also tried Vegas, Premiere Elements 3, and Nero 9. Does anyone know of a software solution that will let me capture a stream this way. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

You might try WinDV. Or one of the other DV transfer applications here: https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/dv
