  1. I bought a box of 10 Fuji DVD-Rs and my first two attempts ended with write errors early in the burn. I have used Fuji DVD+R & R/W and TDK DVD-R before without problems, but my Sony 500AX (2.0c) doesn't seem to like the Fuji DVD-Rs. Has anyone else used them? I tried to burn with RecordNow at 1x with both DVDs. Any ideas before I make 8 more coasters? Thanks.

  2. It sounds like it may be a problem with your burner. I have a DRU500AX with firmware 2.0c and have never burned a coaster using Fujifilm DVD-Rs. I use both RecordNow Max DX and Nero version 5.5.10.20. As far as I am aware of, the Fujifilms discs are some of the best. (It's possible you got a bad batch/lot.) It may also be a problem/glitch specific to your burner and your burner only. Could you possibly exchange it? Are you doing anything else on your computer when burning DVD-Rs? I'm just speculating here.

I sure do see a lot of complaints about the Sony 500A burner. I sure am happy that I didn't go with that drive. I've fed my new TDK 440 multi format drive all kinds of different media and no need for firmware or anything.

  5. I agree verbatim are king. Especially since best buy is selling a 15 pack of them at 4x rating (which is what they record at) for 30 bucks so to me what a better deal 15 4x dvd+r media for 2 dollars a disc.

  6. I had the same problem as you burning DVD's with error's I had two of them same problem's. I went back to my old DVD burner my AO4 no problem's. Pioneer is better then Sony. Sony made a peave of junk to make a ton of cash with the DVD-+R burner. ALso blue laser will not work with DVD+R

    Hello

I'ved used the 10 pack Fuji DVD-R discs that come in standard size CD style jewel cases. Been buying them at BEST BUY (when they are in-stock which isn't often as of late) for $24.95

Never had a problem burning them at 2x with a Pioneer A04/104 DVD-R/RW burnder.

I've used like 2 different authoring software packages and of course DVD Decrypter.

    P.S.
The first ever DVD-R I burned was a coaster because the damn computer went into "sleep" mode or some shit like that ... turned all THAT shit off and never have had another problem burning. I've only ever used the Fuji discs, the Maxell 2x discs and the Samsung BeAll discs.
