  1. I have a 4 divx files with the following properties:

    480x360 resolution
    23.976 fps

I don't know if they are interlaced or deinterlaced. I want to convert to dvd using Tmpegenc plus using cbr 3500 as birate for size.

    Anyone have any suggestions on

    1. What dvd template should I use, PAL or NTSC given the fps of the source file or does it matter, I am using a NTSC tv as I am in the U.S.
    2. Whether to deinterlace or interlace encode? i.e. the advanced options in Tmpegenc.
    3. I saw someone post that Tmpegenc has bad default settings under GOP and that I should change them to:
    Number of I Pictures =1
    Number of P Pictures=4
    Number of B Pictures=2
    Output Interval of sequence header=1
Max numbers of frames per GOP=18.

Is that right? Any help would be appreciated. BTW I have made many dvd's before, but not with divx files so I am fairly familiar with the process.

Use the NTSC template, leave it in interlace mode, unless you plan to watch it on your computer. Finally, encode only a sample of your video ( a few minutes of it should do) to a DVD-RW, until you get the settings to give you the product you want, then burn in entirety with a DVD-R.
    Hello.
