I'm kinda new to the capturing scene and was wondering if it is legal to capture a tv show and put it on a vcd.
Can it be compared to recording a show with a VCR if you don't wanna miss the show?
I know, it's a newbie question, but this has been on my mind the past couple of weeks.

I guess it is as legal as using VCR.
If done properly, the qulity will be better than VCR (DVD or SVCD quality). -
I'm not a legal expert but my understanding is that in most countries if it's for personal use and is for time shifting only there should be no issues. I believe that since the vcr court rulings, distributors and broadcasters accept this as normal personal use. Selling or even distributing copies for free would still be considered illegal.
There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.
