If Tmpgenc would take 2 hours to encode a 1 hour 45 min. movie on your machine, you should be thankful. Also, you are probably using the most optimized for speed settings and doing a single pass CBR endode. Am I guessing correctly?
On your machine, nominal speed would be around 2 ~ 2.5 times the length of the movie. Speed varies greately with different options in Tmpgenc. If you make a 2 pass VBR and use any of the filters and also select highest quality for motion compensation, expect encoding times in the range of 7~9 hours easy. The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
