Does anyone know what editing program lets you import .m2v and .ac3 files to edit? Vegas 4.0 doesn't reconize those files, Adobe premeire 6.5 reconizes .m2v but not .ac3 files. Does anyone know if Avid or any other software will let you import those files for editing.

maestro is not a editing program but you can cut m2v files in it ..

vegas will reconize mpeg file if you mux them first (not ac3 though) - it will also rerender ..

vitec dvd tools will edit m2v and ac3 files (cut apart ac3 only) with out re-render.

goldwave will edit ac3 if you install the ac3 codec found in tools - it will render it though ..

ulead something will edit mpeg files with out rerender i think - not ac3 though .

you can convert ac3 to wav and edit in vegas or whatever along with your muxed m2v file (mux in tmpgenc with out any audio as a program stream)

you can edit m2v files in virtual dub mod -- not ac3
