    Hi all, I am currently building a new system that I plan on using as a PVR. I need to find a low profile capture card. Preferrably one that can capture in MPEG2 because I plan on moving the majority of what I capture to dvd. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    What do you mean by low profile???
    If you mean cheap
    Go for an Avertv Studio Card I capture to DVD quality in mpeg2 no problem.

    If you have a CompUSA near you just pick up the software/hardware combo "AVerDVD EZMaker" which comes with NeoDVD Standard and an AVer PCI capture card. It was selling for $50 with a $10 instant rebate and a $30 mail in rebate. I use this combo to capture directly to DVD compliant mpeg2.

    By low profile I mean short. it's being put into a slimline case and it doesn't support full height pci cards.
