The video I've been trying to burn all day continues to make Nero timeout, and now I'm wondering if it's a problem with the folder names.
The AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders are subdirectories of a root directory folder called VIDEO, but - - -
I don't know what folder they were in originally (i.e., on the uploader's hard drive), and - - -
I'm not sure that it makes a difference.
*Are* the folder name and location important? And if so, how can I discern what that folder name is supposed to be?
Thanks,
W.W.

#1 You shouldn't be having a problem with Nero taking that long--for any reason. Sounds like something else might be wrong.
#2 YES, you must have the folders AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS directly in the root of the disc--NEVER in a subfolder (assuming you're trying to make a compliant, playable DVD).
#3 While Nero might warn you of the non-compliancy of putting the above folders in a different spot, to Nero it is just data files on a data DVD, so it should burn it just fine. (back to #1).

Thanks for responding so quickly.
Nero only times out on THIS particular set of files. Every other time I've burned something -- usually in the same folder structure created by DVD Decrypter, where Video_TS and Audio_TS are not root folders, but subfolders of some other root folder.
So my question is more like, "Is the name of THAT folder significant?" -
Don't think so.
My guess is that it's some corrupt file or wrong attributes or something. -
If you are looking to make a functional DVD, do not use Nero. I can't tell you how many cd-rs we've wasted on that bastard. Just use RecordNowMAX or CopyToDVD.
