    or get the liteon and put dru500a firmware on it.. it should work since it's the same drive

    Hi just purchased Sony DVD RW DWU10A firmware 1.1d and burnt my first backup:

    Film:

    Black Hawk Down (NTSC)

    System:

    P4 2ghz
    Win XP Pro

    Software:

    DVD Decrypter 1.3
    DVD2One 1.1.3
    copytoDVD 2.1.6.145

    Media:

    Memorex dvd-r 4.7GB General Use
    Write Speed x1

    Plays on:

    Sony DVP S880
    Playstation 2 (PAL)
    PC

    This was my first attempt and I am really pleased with the results, it took a while to do but i was determined not to make a coaster. I have also burned CD R's at 24 speed with no problems.

    So far I am very happy with my purchase especially as the memorex DVD-R's have had a bad result for other users.
