Will This DVD Player, Play VCDS/SVCDS?

I just bought a Matsui V-DVD500 DVD/Video combination costing me £175

I go to try various discs and get the following results...

VCD/SVCD = Error Please Check Disc

MP3 Disc = Error Please Check Disc

*Copied DVD* (I bought this of someone, i don't know what sort of rip it is) = PLAYS FINE!

Now this is a bit annoying if this can't play vcds becasue i don't have a dvd-rw so i can only burn vcds.

The specifications of it are...

Colour System - PAL

Disc - DVD, CD-DA, CD-R/RW

Disc diameter - 120mm, 80mm

Pick up - 1-Lens 2 Beams System

I'm hoping it should be able to read vcds as it says CD-R/RW, or should it say VCD if they were supported.

And what is a CD-DA, thanks

search the DVD player section for the maker of your DVD.
