  1. I have made several VCD's but now I'm having trouble. When I load the video(after encoding mpeg 1 with tmpgenc) into Nero it tries to re-encode it, and everyone knows Nero's encode sucks. Please help.
    Thanks all.

  3. if your making the mpg using tmpgenc then you need to make it "non vcd standard" heres how

load up all yer bits, the movie, sound source etc and do your usual options filters etc then when you get to last screen (i fusing the wizrd) untick the "start encoding immediatly" option and then look bottom middle and you will see settings, load, save

what you need to do is load the unlocking template that should of come with tmpgenc, called unlock.mcf

load that and then click settings and then goto end tab, called system, and you should see that the option has been un ghosted click on the arrow and select "non vcd stand" or "non svcd standard" whatever your types are and then click ok and then start

after encoding load up the mpg into nero as usual , it will go through the scrolly analysis bit and should be ok

You must be somehow encoding to a non-compliant "VCD". You can still burn it as VCD in Nero by checking the box that says something like 'allow non-compliant video' (can't remember the exact message).

Otherwise you need to re-encode with TmpGenc, ensuring all your settings are VCD compliant.
