  1. I have a divx vid and in gspot it says 23.976 FPS and 0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3 audio. I then used virtualdub to extract the audio to a wav. But if I load my divx vid and my wav into tmpgenc I get a skew in audio/video with about 1800ms. I tried to correct it and in the beginning of my vid its perfect. But the further I get of the vid I get a skew in audio again. I have tried to use same framerate 23,976 in tmpg and also pal 25fps. No difference at all. Tried to convert my audio wav to 25fps with besweet and multiplex audio/video in tmpg but no difference. This problem is driving me crazy. I have done this lots of times but I cant solve this one!!! Any ?

    Arridon,
i've had the same problems with DIVX4 movies. TMPGenc can't handle all kinds of audio formats. Did you extract the audio the right way ?
See the audio extraction part with Virtdub in the divx2vcd convert guide on this side. I did it in this way and had no sync problems after using TMPGenc anymore.

    Hope this helps, regards

  3. Well, if I extract my audio like I have done many times before(I think I do it the right way) duration of my wav is 1.48.48. My divx is 1.48.51!!! Divx vid plays with perfect sync...Tried to audio gap correct in tmpgenc but it wont work the whole vid.

Having done audio extraction the same way as many times before is no guarantee that it is the right way for this occasion. The time diff of 3 sec between audio and video duration can't be handled by the "audio gap correction" in TMPGenc. This parameter is only for correcting a constant delay time between audio and video over the whole movie. When you use it in this way you will end up with an mpg with video and audio in sync over a small part of the movie.
Use the "full processing mode" in the audio part of Virdub and use the conversion tools of Virdub, they can handle the (probably) VBR MP3 audio part of your divx very well, better than other tools like Cool Edit cs. See the guide i mentioned. I did not know Virdub could do all this audio stuff untill i've red it in the guide.

    Regards, Kees Janssen.

  6. but my audioskew is 2sec from the beginning of the movie. I have done allmost every way I know. The guide on this site only explain how to extract avi audio to wav. This part I have done right for sure. But maybe virtdub can do other stuff not expained here..
