I have an Xvid movie with a subtitle file that I want to convert to VCD with hardcoded subtitles. Normally I'd frameserve from Virtualdub to TMPGenc, but Virtualdub gives me an "error decompressing video" message on any Xvid files I try to process with it. I have the most recent Xvid codec installed... the file plays fine in windows media player, and TMPGenc is able to read and convert the file. Can anyone suggest what the problem with Virtualdub might be, and/or suggest a different means of encoding this file with subtitles that wouldn't have to involve Virtualdub?

use teh 4CC changer and chage the audio and video headers to divx, then use FFDSHOW to read it(high priority in TMPG). Double check your audio, no AC3.

No, it's definitely not AC3 audio... and the error message is referring to the video.
And how would FFDSHOW help me within Virtualdub? -
Ok, let me try asking this: is there a way to frameserve from Graphedit into TMPGenc? If so, how?
