  1. I just used DVDShrink to copy a movie, works slick! But, and there is alays a but 8) , how do you keep the functional menus? When I burned the movie from my HD to the DVD-r and play it, it starts out playing the movie first then the extras after the movie is done. Is there a setting in DVDShrink? Plus how do I strip an audio stream or subtitles? I have the latest version of DVDShrink, 1.04 I think. Any help muchos gracias.

P.S. what is your burning software of choice? I use Pin Instant Copy.

  2. This forum is kinda funny. You have had lots of people reading your post but no replys.

I've only been burning movies for about a month, so consider your source.

If you want to keep menus I would consider a few things first. Keeping menus means that you will have to compress the movie even more than you would have before. For long movies like LOTR and Star Wars, I would not consider it.

To keep the menus go directly to re-encode. Don't reauthor. Select the customize screens button. Then go to show all in the options tab. Do what you need to to make the movie fit. I had trouble this AM by deselecting a 2Ch audio stream for the begining track. It resulted in no sound even though I select the 6 ch option.

At this point you can usually tell what is the main movie and what are the extras.

I try to compress the extras more but usually find that they don't help much toward reducing the overall size.

I tried posting for suggestions on advanced guides but only got limited response. There is a lot of knowledge at this site if you can get people to speak up.

I haven't read it fully but doom9 also has info: http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/dvdshrink-main.htm

Good luck. Please post your findings.
