    VLC (http://www.videolan.com is an excelent program. it amazed me and at a free 3.8 meg download, a valuble addition to anybodys collection.
    what really amazed me it that it played, no skiping of frames at all while i was transcoding a dvd with forty-two and converting .MOV to .MPG with ffmpegx.

    that was amazing. i have seen Quicktime drop frames and such when all i am doing is using safari!!!!!!!
