The kind of output you want from DVD2one is not available. It has been discussed for version 2 (have you even read the forums at www.dvd2one.com?), and if it does, it will cost you another 50 euros, as your version 1 key is only good for version 1 updates.

    my guess would be this

He ran each disc through DVD2One

    Demuxed the resulting .vob files

    dropped them into DVDSP

Authored as a large VIDEO_TS folder

Ran the resulting VIDEO_TS folder through DVD2One again.

    Right?

That must be some *beautiful* quality in the final output...

The other possibility, with possibly better quality, would be to demux original dvds, drop all into DVDSP and master a very large VIDEO_TS folder, and then run DVD2One on the resultant VIDIO_TS folder, but this would probably result in some extraordinarily crappy video quality just the same. Just use 2 dvd-r, they're not that expensive, and you might even get some acceptable video quality out of it.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."

i like your method wise... just demuxing the originals, added to DVDSP and then run the output through DVD2One... And if you did MOVIE ONLY, i bet the quality wouldnt be THAT bad... after all the movie LOTR is how long 3 hours? I did a conversion of the Green Mile using DVD2One [movie only] and the quality is very very good... I honestly didnt notice much differnece when compared side to side [needless to say i dont have an HD TV]

The quality would be worse than the original but significantly higher than the quality of VCD, and for most people that is very tolerable.

But DVD-Rs are pretty cheap. :P

  8. Alas, DTOX does not (yet) work on files created by DVDSP. There's a known issue with the way it looks at DVDs built with DVDSP, Sizzle, ffmpegX, etc. Might be fixed someday, but isn't now.

However, it IS possible to use DTOX to compress two movies to user-specified sizes, demux using Extractor 0.95, then rebuild in DVDSP (or Sizzle, etc.).

If you're working with a four-hour movie that was split on two disks, yes the quality will likely be significantly reduced. However, it was a great solution for me in a few instances where several TV episodes combined were just a hair over the size limit, and needed only slight compression to fit.
