  1. Is there ANY difference in encoding quality between,

    CCE 2.50
    CCE Basic
    CCE 2.67

Was planning on buying CCE Basic....

Hopefully all CCE's use the same encoding engines??

  2. Also,

Forgot to ask what are the specific advantages over the SP version against the Lite?

Hopefully they are more similar than different in features!

  3. there is one major difference between the lite and the full and that is vbr availability. The lite comes only with cbr. You really want vbr availabilitybecause you will not get the size vs quality with cbr.

If you go to Custom Technology's (CCE manufacturer) website they have a complete breakdown of all the features that each version has compared to others. The lite version is pretty much useless now, because the Basic version does much more for much less.

As far as quality differences, not related to actual restrictions placed on any given version, there are little. Versions 2.6x implemented updated encoding algorithms, but I cannot see any perceptible differences. I think the Basic version may also have these optimizations, but I'm not sure. These versions do offer many new filters which could allow you to achieve better quality overall, but I prefer to do my filtering through other software and I don't particularly see CCE's filters offering anything better than what is available elsewhere.

In my opinion, there are very little quality differences between 2.5 and 2.6x. The Basic package is more limited in its features, but for the price it is still an excellent deal.
