I have lots of old HI8 tapes and my cam no longer works, i have been looking for a VCR or converter to play the tapes on but not having much luck. Anyone help me??

One option might be a D8 cam, which will play back Hi8 tapes, and do it better than a Hi8 machine would due to its digital noise reduction circuit. Ideally, I'd make a project of transferring tem to DVD or some other medium, since the cam isn't going to be great as a heavy use playback machine.
I found a couple of used TRV120 cams on eBay for around $350 - that's another option.
