  1. I have an ATI All IN Wonder Radeon (the first one released), and just re-installed WinXP. Now I'm having all kinds of troubles getting the capture drivers working properly. I have uninstalled and re-installed the newest drivers from the ati website, using the guide that they provide, yet it still won't capture.
Does anyone know what I might need to do to get the capture working? I thought ATI just released some new drivers that you could pay $10 for or something (free for newer version of radeon cards), does anyone know anything about this?

  3. I am having the same problem with my AIW card. It worked fine until I reinstalled XP Pro a few months ago. I've tried everything to get it to work. The forums on Rage3d have some good info. They give a very detailed instruction guide on how to uninstall and reinstall the ATI drivers. I followed the guide very carefully and it still doesn't work correctly. The trick about resetting Direct3d settings works for a couple of captures, but not a complete fix. I have not upgraded to DX9 yet, don't know if that would help?

I think my problem is related to the VIA chipset on my Soyo MB. I'm thinking about getting a dual output video card and a Leadtek TV2000XP TV tuner/capture card. My dad has this card (with the same Soyo M/B), and it works great.

Hope you have better luck than I have w/ the AIW.

  4. I found the following fix on another forum and it worked for me. I believe it pertains to ATI cards combined with recent updates of Windows XP or Direct X 9. Any one who knows more particulars please fill us in. If you try this be sure to set a restore point or back up your registry.

    To get capture to work:

The registry change bellow should fix the problem:

    Regedit:
    Search Term: AVBISurf.ax
Change: "ThreadingModel" from "Both" to "None."

Install MMC 8.1 including the TV app, then edit the registry. Videostudio should work fine after that.
