  1. I used backup 1.3 and Dvd2One version OSX to burn Ice Age. I finally got my TiBook superdrive to recognize the DVD-R (generic AllMediaOutlet DVD-R) and I successfully burnt the movie. It plays perfectly on my Tibook dvd player. No skips, great audio, great quality. On my home DVD player (Panasonic RP-62) it skips and the audio comes in and out. It gets all blocky and some of the screen goes dark, then it plays fine for 2 seconds, then it does it again. Same effect on every chapter and every part of the movie. So why doesn't it play well on my RP62, but does fine on my Tibook?

    Try on another player.

Also, be sure it is correct UDF/ISO format, not just ISO or just UDF. And be sure its the right UDF mode. These options available on most burner software (like Nero). If you use the authoring software to burn, it should be an okay disc.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

He can't use NERO because If you read his post, he's on a MAC...
but what he could do is

if DTOX (DVD to ONE OSX) creates a VIDEO_TS structure on the hard drive, you can use a properly updated TOAST TITANIUM OSX
to burn a set top playable DVD in UDF format..this might allow you to make a more compatible burn

(if updated toast will see the 1x Matsushita
-R drive that comprises the superdive in the apple laptop)

The new G4's on the other hand achieve 4x with their '+DISABLED' SONY 500 oem drives in the latest "superdive"

  5. well i used Toast Titanium and went to the "other" menu. From there I selected DVD from the pop-up option. I just put in the blank DVD and burned it. Where can I select the UDF?

    Sorry if I was misleading...
Toast Sees the VIDEO_TS folder and auto matically burns a UDF "VOLUME"
    You already selected OTHER
so it won't use MAC & PC HYBRID(or the other choices-audio or mac only) but will use the DVD filesystem, UDF

just make sure the folder exists, don't put the .VOBS in the root directory (a common problem)

  7. What I did was drag the Video_TS folder and an Audio_TS folder into the Toast window and selected the burn. The DVD player recognizes it as a DVD-V ???? (the DVD-R doesn't light up on the LCD screen, so it isn't recognizing it as a DVD-R) and then starts playing the movie. The movie shows up on the screen and the surround sound kicks in, but then it gets all blocky and the audio comes in and out. I have burnt 2 dvds now and they do the exact same thing. I might switch media and see if this helps at all.

  8. Update: I went and bought a Verbatim DVD-R and it plays flawlessly in my RP-62. I guess my DVD player is snobbish about the quality of DVDs I put in it. I get to keep my player and will have to find a cheap place to purchase Verbatim discs. Thanks for everyone's help!
