I am a total neophyte who has just bought DVD2one. I now understand that there are other issues involved like decrypting. I have been reading
many of the postings looking for the right help. Is there anything available that would give me a step by step tutorial (like The Missing Manual)
What is 42 and how can I find it and use it with DVD2one? I know this sounds so basic but everyone has to start someplace! I am anxious to learn and would appreciate any help from friends.
    Thank you...

HEY, wow, a person from oregon, just like me.

what you do is for 42, you just open it, and drag the dvd u want with it, and select DVD.

then when it finished, take the mpeg 2 and ac3 or mp2 (whichever it outputted to) and mux them in ffmpegX k, then use ff to make a disc image, then use dvd2onex to make the it smaller.

then burn in toast or disc copy

  3. You don't need to use 42 if you have dvd2one. In fact i can't think of a reason why you would want to.

Step 1. Rip the entire movie from the dvd with either OSeX or DVDBackup 1.3

You will be able to find these on versiontracker.

Step 2. Select the video_ts folder created from Step 1. into dvd2one and press start.

    Hope this helps

Thank you for replying. I see now that 42 is not necessary and will
try to follow instructions with...I hope...a successful conclusion!
it's nice to know there are people willing to give you a lift when you are learning...

It's better if you use DVD Backup. It does the decrypting, and other good stuff.
