Hi, i'm following this guide here, trying to make subtitles for my movie.
    https://www.videohelp.com/sefy/?id=frameserv3.html
the problem is that on....Step 1(a/b) - Click on "File" then "Open video file" and select your source (Such as the Fake AVI you created using VFAPI Converter) file, then click on "Video" and select "Filters" if you want to add the VobSub filter.

    The file won't open..it saids..

could';nt locate decompressor for format vifp(unknown)

virturaldu requires a video for windown {VFW}compatiable codec to decompress video. Directshow
codec, such as those usded by window media player, are not suitable.

    Hi,

Had same problem myself... Using WinXP!!! A simple trick could help... Try installing Pinnacle Studio 7 (even a demo should do the trick)!!!
    This helped for me...

    Hmmm, Don't know....

First I had Studio 7 and Virtualdub worked fine... After I installed Studio 8, Virtualdub gives the same error as you mentioned...
I tryed to figure out why virtualdub didn't work anymore, so i uninstalled Studio 8 and installed Studio 7 (original version, so no demo). Virtualdub worked fine again.... I tryed the same on my Laptop... same thing... Studio 8, Virtualdub NO GO!, Studio 7, Virtualdub OK!!!
Must be some codecs that are installed with Studio 7???

If you meant step Step 2g) i skiped that part. Anyways, what do i do with all these files i created with v-dub &vobsub? I hope i don't have to type in all the subtitles like the Doom9 subtitle guide, that would be pain in daA$$.
