  1. When I re-author a DVD, the chapter points in Maestro are off - they are inserted a few seconds before where the actual chapter is. The chapter times are what they are, but it seems like Maestro is linking them to the incorrect GOP in the m2v file. Has anyone else had this problem, and how did you resolve it, if at all?

    Thanks.

  3. I've used both chapter xtractor and the files generated by DVDDecrypter, and I've tried different framerates with extractor. One interesting thing I did notice - the times returned by Xtractor are off a few frames from what is shown in the IFO file! What DVDDecrypter produces is an exact match to the listing in the IFO file.

The only way I get the chapters to the correct spot is if I go along each chapter and advance it to the next GOP until it looks like it matches where it's supposed to be. On a movie with many chapters this is a pain in the ass.

  5. Wierd thing, I dont remember having this problem when I was using ReMEPG to transcode. Seems I get this issue with CCE. What I think I have to do is re-author, then compile, and watch the VOBs from my hard drive. Advance to each chapter, and take notice of when the actual scene changes, concurrently editing the chapter points in Maestro and then recompile and burn those to DVD.

Are you setting the chapter points in CCE?

Maestro only creates chapters on I frames, CCE has to encode that point as an I frame.

Use the -drop_frame true flag in pulldown (if your using NTSC film as a source) to correct the time code.

  7. I'm using DoCCE4U to do my transcoding and pulldown. I provide DoCCE4U with the celltimes, DVDDecrypter can output a text file with the appropriate format.

Perhaps the -drop_frame true flag in pulldown is not set. I'll need to research that.
