  1. Just bought a AIW 9700 Pro, running through a Soyo Dragon Ultra Platinum with all updated drivers and bios. I connected the card exactly how it sayes in the manual, tried it tons of different ways with differnet connections and tried to capture VHS with Pinnacle and VirtualDub...both programs wont pick up any audio. Im getting VERY frustrated as i have been trying to figure this thing out for the past 4 days. If anyone can help...please do!!! Thanx

  2. I believe you need to capture the audio from the line input of your sound card. Just make sure you have the line input enabled in the windows sound control panel.

  3. done that.....got a cable for R + L audio to line in. Tried it....enabled the line in function in windows....still nothing......

  4. You also must select the "line in" on the software program you're using to do the capture. Also just to make sure it's working try using windows moviemaker (free program) as I know that actually works for captures.

I use a simple program called NeoDVD and an Aver capture card to do all my VHS movie captures. You can buy both of these from CompUSA for $10 if they are still onsale in the states.

  5. Yeah, You have to configure your capture program to cap audio line-in all the while your audio inputs in in the lin-in. Also you might wanna check if there are any extra settings in your control panel audio settings as there was in mine. Have the A7N8X Deluxe mobo and the Built in sound card had extra settings before I was able to capture... Missed a few shows ... Anyways the extra settings I had to change are in the pic.

  9. Windows movie maker should allow you to select your sound card for your audio recording and Line-in. Go to control panel select your audio device and see if there are extra settings such as [input record] which has a line-in option. You might be recording the wrong sound input. I gtg cheer on the Canucks!!! Good luck

  10. i have gone to every possible properties and volume configuration screen and they all say input is active.....except for one...the mixer program it self....i cant figure out how to make it active on the program. I have emailed ati 3 times now...and all i get is stupid a$$ computer generated responses that tell me nothing. I have been trying to call them, but they are never around....not even during their "hours of operation".

I also tried that movie maker options.....they are the same as the Pinnacle program.....they let me select line-in.....but im not geting any acutal audio form it.

  11. Maybe the card itself is defective. My first 8500dv had to be rma'ed before it worked.

  12. ok...FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! omg.....i guess there was a conflict with the c-media audio setup and the aiw card, or maybe the line-in feature is defective.....at any rate, i installed my old sound blaster card, and it captures sound now.........thing was REALLY pissing me off. Thanx to all those who responded...especially TwIZzlEr!!!!

  14. Might be the Stop Conditions under the capture tab settings of vdub.

  16. i dont have any stop conditions on.....could it be because i might not have the picvideo codec registered? or angelpotion? they options are all default except for like 2. I changed the size....well how about this.....can anyone recommend a program. All im trying to do is change a few Vhs tapes over to vcd and maybe do a few dvdr of the tapes also.

Is everything wired properly, both inside the computer and outside?

  18. Are you using MMC 8.1 from ati? Heard this is suppose to be good. Haven't tried it yet on my old radeon 64. I got tired of the ati drivers myself, and went out and bought a geforce 4800se8x. Which btw, came with a ton of cd's games, programs. 10 cd's in all I think.

I'd advise against 8.1 for the more stable 7.7. Had my system and too many others I know reject the software (mainly because of fluky installation requirement of DX9) and the MPEG2 encoding wasn't all that good on 8.1.

  22. If I remember MMC correctly, isn't it Video In? and then there should be a record button, if not, press F2 and see if it pops up after you open VIDEO IN.
