I'm trying to do some converting of family videos (VHS) to dvd. I use an ATI All-In-Wonder for capture and the video from it looks great. Then I use ULead Video Studio 5.0 to convert it to DVD Mpeg2 in a special bitrate. Unfortunately Ulead converts it to a higher contrast/brightness which when written to DVD and viewed on TV looks bad especially with not so perfectly lit scenes. This also happens in Ulead Movie Factory 1.0. I've tried capturing the video at a much higher brightness to try to counter the problem but when rendered it looks just like the other! Is thereSome way in Ulead to change this? How about the overlays? as of yet I have not been able to use them so I can't tell what they do. Oh well, thanks for any help.
