  1. Hi there, I added a filter in virtualdub to a video and now I want to save it, but I want to save it so it is as good quality(with the modifications) as before, now I know using a codec will decrease the video quality, so what do I do?

You nailed it - there's nothing you can do.
Okay, every time you encode, the quality goes down, but if your source is good ('lossless' codec i.e. huffyuv, high bitrate) and you encode it the same way, the quality difference can be marginal.
But in general, you can't avoid that problem.
So allways do all your filtering at once for your final videofile - don't just play around with filters. Also, if you just want to adjust brightness try advanced players that can remember the playersettings for each file individualy.

Not very helpfull - but clearyfying, i hope.

  3. Well, I have the settings in divx as,

    1-pass: 0

    1-pass quality-bassed: 100%

And the quality and size are now basicly the same, though I was just wondering if there was any better way that would make it 100% but I guess I will stick to the way it is.
