Why is nero only burning at 1x with Ritek G04 4X???

I'm using the Cendyne/Pioneer 105 and using Nero to burn. I only get 1x with the Ritek G04 4x. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to fix this. I already applied the latest firmware.

By the way, nero doesn't even give me the option for any other speeds than 1x.

first look with DVDinfo or any other soft to see if it's real G04.. if so, then once again, the Pioneer firmware just plainly sux.. try 1.21 or less (1.0)

but be sure it'S Go4 first

I think you got screwed. They probably sent you G03s.

it's the media your using, have had the same problem in the start. make sure the media your using is 4x there are pages on the net wich will tell you wich kind of media can be burned on 4x with a pioneer a05.

the reason why nero is only showing is the same, when you start nero without a blanc dvd-r in your burner it wil show you 4x, 2x and 1x. when you insert the media only 1x is showing.

to asure you, when you buy the right media it's a very nice burner but it listens very narrow to the media type. hopefully someone creates a cracked bios so it doesn't matter anymore wich kind of media you are using...
