On my first attempt on a DV capture the firewire chip went up in smoke.
After replacing my mainboard I cant manage to get my DV cam to be recognized by XP. Have tried Pixela, studio 8.
Any suggestions. Do I need to make something for win XP to recognise my DV camera. Are there any indications like when using USB (new hardware found). Capturing by USB and analog works. Although USB is kinda jerky. Presumably due to insufficient data rate.
If no other solutions come up I will try to get a check on my camera to see if could have been damaged on my previous attempt. Not likely i think since it runs a i.link whithout power from firewire port.
All suggestions much appreciated.

Was that also an ALL IN WONDER FIREWIRE CARD that died?
Jus' Curious
I heard about some mac's firwire ports dying when you use the modem!
This is the first firewire failure on windows i've heard of..It blew the mobo too? Or it was part of the mobo? -
Mobo has an integrated fw chip. That's the one that went dead.
