I have my complete movie edited in Pinnacle Studio. If I am going to burn a DVD, which type of format do I export in from Pinnacle Studio. All videos where captured in AVI format and Reside in that format currently.

You will need to convert from avi to MPEG2 DVD compliant files. I am not familiar with pinnacle studio, but from their blurb on their site, it appears that it can do that.
However I would guess that the quality of the conversion would be less in this $50 package than you can get for free using TMPEnc.
Either way, you will need to end up with MPEG2 DVD compliant files, and then author a DVD with an authoring program. Pinnacle studio may or may not do this.
