Source? IVTC (Inverse Telecine) can do it, if it's truly a film source. Otherwise it doesn't look right.

Well, I would just apply a 2:3 pulldown. This will convert 23.976 to 29.97 WITHOUT affecting the timing of your video. Without the timing affected, the subtitles should be fine.

To do the actual conversion you have to perform a telecine. TMPGenc has a filter for this called 3:2 pulldown, but there is really no practical reason why you would ever want to do this.

If your source is 23.976fps and mpeg2, then like Baldrick said, use pulldown.exe. Its default settings will add the 3:2 pulldown flag to your stream, which instructs your dvd player to perform a real time telecine as your movie plays. So basically you encode at 23.976fps, but its played back at 29.97fps. This is how almost all NTSC dvds are made.

If your source is mpeg1, and you are making a VCD, then just burn as is. DVD players are supposed to autotelecine ntscfilm (23.976fps) VCDs automatically.

  8. Well... I have an avi video (divx) in 23.976. From it I want to make DVD NTSC. How can I make it easily ? Program for use ?

  9. It's all ok, Canopus procoder easily does it, and my video is 29.9, but after this subtitles isn't ok. The subtitle was good for 23.976 avi, but not good 29.9 mpeg2. Now what can I do with it to be ok ?
