  1. Hey,all

OK, I'm new in this area and I know only a little so plz answer me in simple words.
I have an SVCD moive that I downloaded with subs in *.sub format. The movie was probably ripped I think but not by me so now I want to add the subs and I don't care if they are siwtchable subs or not I just want to add them for good so I can burn them and see them on my DVD player that I already watched in it SVCD movies without subs so I guess that the movie should work also with subs.
I tried many guides but they are all for divx and I want for SVCD, plz tell me that it's possible and or send me to a guide or if you are very nice write it for me.

    Thanks alot

  2. Well, i prefer the permanent subtitles, because the no permanet subtitles depent of you home dvd player.

If you choose permanets ones. depend of mpeg2 (svcd) encode you use. I think the best is canopus procoder.

    With procoder:

You need one little palication named ffdshow. Install it

then go to configuration --> mark the subtitle box ---> and in the submenu fonts, put the configuration you want, subtitle font, scale...

then, put in the same directory the video file and the subtile file (sub file) and rename both with the same name, example: popo.avi popo.sub

Open procoder and open the avi file normally and make the things you make normally, automatically, the subtitle will be in your svcd.

    With Tmpgenc:

You need an aplication named virtualdub and a filter named subtitle.

open virtualdub, open your avi file, go to video --> filter --> add
Then click on subtitle, a window is showed and put there your subtitle (ssa file) --> ok

Go to file menu --> frameserver --> ok and put a name for your vdr file --> start frameserver.

Open Tmpgenc, and instead open your video file, open the vdr file, and make a svcd.

I think, i am not sure, the first method works with cce encode too.

The first method works with tmpgenc also. You don't have to frameserve.
