What settings does iMovie use on it "Export to iDVD" option. I will be burning a movie in iDVD, so I want the iDVD-optimized settings, but I need the audio to be mono, so I will have to do an advanced export, but I want the video to be the same quality as it would be on a regular export to iDVD.

Would I just use the DV format?

    Thanks.

Umm...hello? I know this isn't hard. I'm pretty sure it just uses NTSC DV, but I'm not positive.

  3. Export to iDVD just pulls all the clips together into one big QuickTime file -- it doesn't recompress it or anything.

At least, for the video I've imported from my DV camera, the output of "Export to iDVD" has been in the same DV codec format.

iDVD does all the work of converting the video into MPEG-2 format.

While we're here, has anyone used Cleaner to do a VBR MPEG-2 movie, and then pull that into iDVD? Is it possible? Is it easy?

Dude, you waited only 6 hours for a reply. You have to give us time to get to your question. And Yes the DV codec is used.
